Pune News: Park Infinia Residents Of Phursungi Demand Action Against Traffic Nightmare

The residents of Park Infinia Society in Phursungi have raised concerns over the deplorable condition of the road connecting Saswad Road to their residential complex. With a total of 2,200 members and an approximate population of 7,000, the society is grappling with severe transportation woes exacerbated by rampant encroachments along the route.

Commuters navigating the stretch from Hadapsar-Saswad main road to Park Infinia Society are facing harrowing experiences, enduring excruciatingly long travel times. Shockingly, what should be a mere 1-kilometre journey is now consuming an astonishing 60 hours, owing to the congested thoroughfare plagued by encroachments.

Traffic snarls and frequent accidents have become an all too common sight, prompting residents to voice their distress over the lack of alternative routes, particularly during medical or other emergencies.

Furthermore, residents are urging authorities to address encroachments directly outside the main gate of Park Infinia Society. They assert that the removal of unauthorised stalls and the subsequent widening and asphalting of the road space would not only alleviate traffic hazards but also mitigate the potential for future accidents.

A resident commented, “There is no place for pedestrians, this encroachment can cause major accidents in future. Also, as these are immediately next to the main entrance gate, car and bike accidents have already happened many times.” 

Balasaheb Patil, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, Hadapsar Mundhwa Ward Office, Pune Municipal Corporation responded to the situation by stating that he will be appointing a team of officials to investigate the encroachment problem being faced by the residents of Park Infinia Society today, which will hopefully resolve this matter urgently.
