Pune News : Pune traffic police to introduce women officials to monitor vehicle towing operations

Pune: The Pune Traffic Police has announced a new initiative to address complaints from citizens regarding rude behavior by traffic police officers during towing operations. In response to these concerns, the department plans to deploy women traffic police officers for towing duties, with the aim of promoting polite communication with citizens.

Vijaykumar Magar, Deputy Commissioner of the Traffic Department, said, “The initiative will involve the deployment of 29 women traffic police officers along with 14 cranes and 15 towing vans. These women officers will be provided with body cameras to document interactions with citizens, as disputes often arise during towing operations.

To prepare for their new role, the women traffic police officers will undergo training on April 17, specifically focused on how to interact with the public. This training is aimed at ensuring that the women officers are equipped with the skills necessary to effectively communicate with citizens during potentially challenging situations.

The decision to introduce women traffic police officers for towing duties comes in response to numerous complaints from citizens regarding the behavior of traffic police officers during towing operations. Many citizens have reported instances of rude behavior, which has led to dissatisfaction and disputes. The Pune Traffic Department hopes that the deployment of women officers will help to address these concerns and improve the overall experience for citizens during towing operations.
