Pune News: Rs.10.51 Lakh Cash Stolen After Car Window Smashed In Viman Nagar
Pune: A shocking theft occurred in the Viman Nagar area, where thieves broke the window of a parked car and stole cash amounting to ₹10.51 lakh. The incident took place on Sunday night near Vatika Society, and a case has been registered at the Airport Police Station.
The complainant, Nitesh Kumar Rajkumar Shah (34), a businessman from Kandivali, Mumbai, reported the theft to the police. According to the complaint, Shah had come to Viman Nagar for work and parked his car by the roadside. Thieves smashed the car window and made off with a bag containing cash.
Sub-Inspector Ravindra Dhavare is investigating the case. Police have noted an increase in similar incidents in recent days, where car windows are broken to steal valuables such as cash and laptops. A recent case in Hadapsar saw thieves breaking into two cars to steal cash and jewelry.
Residents and businesspersons are advised to avoid leaving valuables in parked vehicles and to stay vigilant against such crimes.
