Pune: In a tragic incident, a six-year-old boy drowned in an under-maintenance swimming pool at Mantra Park View society in Dhayari. The accident occurred while the child was visiting his grandparents’ home and playing in the society premises.
According to reports, the boy went missing in the evening between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM. When he did not return home, his worried grandparents began searching for him. Their worst fears came true when they discovered his body floating in the swimming pool.
The pool was under maintenance at the time of the incident, raising serious concerns about safety measures and access control in residential societies. It remains unclear how the child managed to enter the area and whether any precautions were in place.
A case has been registered at the Nanded City Police Station, and further investigations are underway. The incident has left residents shaken, emphasizing the urgent need for strict security measures around swimming pools, especially when they are not in use.
