A controversy has erupted at Sir Parashuram Bhau college on Tilak Road after its grounds were severely damaged during preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on September 26, ahead of the assembly elections. The event, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has left the grounds in a deplorable state, sparking concerns among students.
Akshay Kamble, a member of the Student Union Congress, has written to the principal, demanding immediate repair of the grounds. “The grounds have been excavated, and cement roads have been constructed on the soil. The rains have worsened the situation, leaving the field unrecognizable,” Kamble stated.

The Student Union Congress has threatened to launch a strong agitation if the college administration fails to take responsibility for the repairs. “Who will bear the cost of restoration – the Municipal Corporation, the BJP, or the college itself?” Kamble asked.
The principal is under pressure to respond to the students’ demands. The college administration’s priority should be to provide a safe and conducive environment for its students. The damaged grounds have deprived students of their recreational space.
The student community awaits a response from the college administration. Will they prioritize their students’ needs and restore the grounds, or will the matter escalate into a full-blown controversy? The situation remains tense as students demand accountability and action.
Details of the damage and the college’s response are awaited. The incident raises questions about the responsibility of event organizers and the protection of public spaces.
