Chandrima Ghosh, a resident of Wagholi and a member of Green Sunrise Hills NGO, is making a difference in the lives of the less privileged children of the society. She volunteers her time to teach the kids who come from lesser-income families at BVJSS (Wagholi), some of whom have lost their parents due to COVID-19 and floods.

Chandrima has worked with various organizations in the past, including Ashalaya in Navi Mumbai and DSS Pune, and has taught in the Labour Camp behind her house. She strongly believes that education is the key to success and that teaching children at an early age is critical. Handrima loves to see the joy on the children’s faces when they finally grasp something, and she feels that it is worth it.

She wants to spread a message in society that if we invest one hour a week in teaching, guiding, and mentoring the less privileged of our society, it will not only benefit the students, who are the future of the country, but also give a sense of gratification to the teachers.

When talking with Chandrima Ghosh she said “I hope that my efforts will inspire others to come forward and contribute their time and knowledge to help create a better future for the less privileged children of our society”
