Age is just a number, is proved wrong again. Pune based Om Shinde, a 15-year-old Wheelchair Basketball player, is making waves in the world of sports. Shinde, who practices at the PYC, a member of Pune Ryders Wheelchair Basketball foundation, recently participated in two major sports events and came out victorious in both.

On 21st February 2023, Om Shinde competed in the Divyang Category ‘Mr Pune 2023′ under 21 years held at Rajiv Gandhi E-Learning School, where he secured the first rank. This is an impressive achievement for a young athlete who is already competing in different sports categories.

Not only this, but Shinde also competed in the above 60kgs category of JUNIOR MAHARASHTRA SHREE, held on 25 February 2023 at Mira Bhayandar, Mumbai. He stood third in this category, proving that he is a multi-talented sportsman who excels in different disciplines.

Om Shinde’s success is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and passion for sports. Despite being only 15 years old, he has already shown exceptional skills and talent, making him a rising star in the world of sports.

Overall, Om Shinde’s success in both Bodybuilding and Wheelchair Basketball is a remarkable achievement, and his future in the world of sports looks bright. 

When talking with Om Shinde’s mother Madhuri Shinde said  “He joined the gym when he was 15yr old and his journey started from an early age. Om had a dream to play at international level he wanted to play in the Olympiad. We are living in a joint family so, everyone is inspiring him for achieving his goals and we are all proud of him. He plays basketball now his coach Meghna Munot who has trained him very well. We didn’t plan to showcase his upper body but when he joined the gym his body became fit.”
