Pune, April 14, 2026: Residents of Nivedita Gardens Society in Pune’s NIBM area have raised concerns over persistent noise and alleged nuisance caused by a café operating in a nearby residential bungalow.
In a collective complaint addressed to authorities, residents alleged that the establishment located opposite Anandpuram Diagnostic Center, has been functioning late into the night for over a year, often continuing operations beyond midnight.
According to the complaint, the café is situated within close proximity to multiple residential societies, leading to frequent disturbances. Residents reported that groups of customers gather outside the premises during late hours, engaging in loud conversations and creating noise.
They further claimed that noise from high-powered motorcycles, including those with modified silencers, adds to the disruption, particularly during late-night and early morning hours.
The complaint also highlighted concerns over public smoking and alleged instances of alcohol consumption inside parked vehicles, along with suspected use of prohibited substances in the vicinity.
Residents stated that the situation worsened during the month of Ramzan, when the café reportedly remained open until early morning hours, sometimes as late as 4 am.
Despite repeated complaints to the police helpline, residents claimed that no lasting solution has been implemented. They said the ongoing disturbance has affected their quality of life, leading to sleep disruption and health-related issues.
Emphasising that the area is designated as a residential zone, the residents have urged authorities to enforce permitted operating hours, take action against noise violations, and increase night-time patrolling. They have also called for strict monitoring of public smoking and illegal activities in the area.
The residents have sought immediate intervention from authorities to restore peace and ensure a safe and quiet environment in the locality.
