The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) will keep an eye on the noise levels on the five main days of the festival from 6pm to midnight at 132 locations across Maharashtra.

As per information, this exercise has already started with the police keeping an eye on the noise levels on the 19th and 20th September. MPCB will be doing it again on the 23rd, 25th and 28th September.

The maximum noise levels during the day are 50dB in quiet areas and 55dB in residential areas. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has asked the mandals to keep their music down after 10pm.

There are 18 places in Pune where we’ll be keeping an eye on noise levels. The Mumbai Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has given a work order to a company to do monitoring of ambient noise levels during the festival season of Ganesh and Diwali.

Earlier, during Dahi Handi, the noise levels of various places was checked too. Noise pollution complaints were received from 181 locations, wherein Kothrud recorded highest number of complaints.
