Pune: Now, Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook, Email complaints to be incorporated in Dial 112

Primary and Secondary Emergency contact center – Dial 112 will now accept complaints from social media platforms such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Emails, etc. An integrated system was launched in Pune by deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. The system was launched at the recently held seminar on Crime and Law and Order of senior police officials from Maharashtra. The system is developed by Maharashtra Police and Mahindra Defence Services. Till date, 11.5 lakh complaints have been resolved through this system and daily over 19,000 calls are answered. Over 2.5 lakh complaints were related to issues raised by women. More than 2800 complaints are resolved. This helpline will also absorb complaints coming from Maharashtra Police’s Citizen portal, SOS, Facebook, Email, Citizen Mobile App, Twitter and Whatsapp too.

To address issues from a varied range of social media platforms, adequate staff has been deployed to speed up the redressal of complaints.
