Residents of Nyati Exotica Cooperative Housing Society in Mohammad Wadi embraced Independence Day with unwavering enthusiasm and fervor. Despite being a small society comprising 92 flats, the celebration saw a remarkable turnout of over 70 individuals who gathered for the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag at 9 am.

The honor of hoisting the flag was bestowed upon 93-year-old Ratan Sachdev, a senior resident whose roots trace back to a military family. With two brothers and three sons-in-law who served as officers in the armed forces, her connection to the nation’s defense runs deep.

Adding to the significance of the event, the society extended a warm welcome to Balaji D Salunkhe, an Assistant Police Inspector (API) from the Handewadi Traffic division of Pune Police. Salunkhe was recognized as the guest of honor for his relentless dedication to enhancing traffic management, particularly in the Handewadi vicinity encompassing Kadnagar and Nyati Chowk.

The celebration culminated in a convivial high tea session, fostering camaraderie among residents and guests alike. The day’s events underscored the community’s profound sense of patriotism and unity, showcasing the essence of national pride and collective endeavor.
