An online proposal has been recently submitted to the Forest Department for the acquisition of approximately 47 hectares of forest land required for the construction of a broad ring road. This significant infrastructure project, spanning 128.08 kilometers, aims to enhance connectivity within the authority limits, specifically from Parandwadi to Mauje Solu village, covering a distance of 40 kilometers.

The responsibility for developing the lengthy ring road has been entrusted to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation. While a width of 65 meters has been designated for the road for most of its length, a proposal has been forwarded to the government regarding the remaining section within the authority limits. This proposal is in accordance with the notification of Section 20(3) of the Government of Maharashtra under the Town Planning Act, which was published on 18/11/2021. The Town Planning Department in Pune is currently taking further action on this matter.

As part of the development process, the authority has prepared a comprehensive project report and engaged a consultant to facilitate land acquisition for the 65-meter wide ring road. The first phase of land acquisition proposals has been submitted to the Collectorate, specifically targeting three villages: Mauje Solu, Niragudi, and Vadgaon Shinde. These proposals cover a total width of 88.08 kilometers.

In line with the project requirements, a proposal to acquire 46.8363 hectares of forest land for the Cha Ring Road has been uploaded to the Parivesh portal of the Forest Department on 31/05/2023. Subsequently, the proposal was formally submitted to the Conservator of Forests at the Pune Forest Department on 02/06/2023. Recognizing the environmental impact, efforts have been made to address the acquisition of forest land responsibly. Consequently, a request has been made to the Collector’s office to provide an alternative non-forest area. Once the details of the alternative site are available, they will be discussed with the Forest Department.

Ramdas Jagtap, the Deputy Collector and Public Liaison Officer of PMRDA, is overseeing this crucial project, ensuring effective coordination between various stakeholders and facilitating public engagement.
