Pune : Over 1 lakh 40 thousand claims settled in Lok Adalat

A total of 1 lakh 40 thousand 904 claims of pre-dispute 1 lakh 14 thousand 88 and compromise 26 thousand 816 were settled in the National Lok Adalat of the district held on March 3 under the guidance of Chief District and Sessions Judge & Chairman of Pune District Legal Services Authority Mahendra Mahajan.

Bank Debt Recovery 3 thousand 105, Compromise Criminal 20 thousand 322, Electricity Payment 538, Labor Disputes 12, Land Acquisition 48, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal 99, Matrimonial Disputes 106, Negotiable Instruments Act 1 thousand 355, Other Civil 350, Others 6 704 thousand, revenue 5 thousand 104, water tax 1 lakh 3 thousand 161, everything totalling to 1 lakh 40 thousand 904 cases have been settled.

26 thousand 816 cases were settled out of 46 thousand 637 pending cases for conciliation and 271 crore 47 lakhs 29 thousand 450 conciliation fees were recovered. Out of 1 lakh 96 thousand 806 claims before the dispute, 1 lakh 14 thousand 88 claims were settled and 98 crore 30 lakh 90 thousand 818 rupees were recovered as compromise fee. A total of 1 lakh 40 thousand 904 pending claims were settled and Rs 369 crore 78 lakh 20 thousand 268 were recovered as compromise fee.

Pune district has maintained the tradition of being a leader in settling claims during the organization of National Lok Adalat. Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Sonal Patil has informed that the officers and employees of all the courts of the district, police department, municipal corporation, various government departments and citizens have got good cooperation for this successful project.
