Pune, June 24, 2025:

After grappling with issues of garbage dumping, illegal parking by travel buses and tempos, encroachments by eateries, and activities by scrap dealers and meat vendors, residents of Parge Nagar are now facing fresh challenges—this time from three educational institutions in the area.

The residents, particularly from the Kumar Palmgrove Society, have expressed growing frustration with three schools located around Kumar Palmgrove and Raviraj Astria. Speaking to Pune Pulse, residents shared that the school is generating excessive noise pollution and creating daily traffic congestion in the already narrow lane separating the two societies.

A resident explained, “The school makes repeated announcements over loudspeakers throughout the day, causing major disturbance to those working from home, senior citizens, and students preparing for exams. Moreover, the traffic situation is getting worse.”

The root of the problem, residents claim, is an unauthorised entry and exit gate the school has opened facing Kumar Palmgrove Society. This has not only disrupted internal traffic flow but also forced school parents to walk long distances, as buses and office pick-up vans now avoid entering the society due to space constraints.

“The school buses refuse to enter, and the office vans drop children at the main road, risking their safety,” said a concerned parent. Despite repeated complaints, the school management has reportedly paid little attention to the matter.

It has also come to light that the gate opened by the school may have been constructed illegally, bypassing necessary permissions from municipal authorities.

Residents are now planning to escalate the matter to the Pune Municipal Corporation and local police, urging them to take action to restore peace and order in the area.
