Pimpri, December 7, 2024: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched a comprehensive survey to identify unassessed properties and streamline property tax collection. A private firm, M/s Sthapatya Consultant Pvt. Ltd., has been appointed for this task, and their survey has revealed 2,51,165 new properties. Of these, measurements for 2,03,894 properties have been completed, and taxation is underway.

Notices and SMS alerts have been issued to the owners of 1,13,831 properties, requesting necessary documentation for tax assessment. These documents are essential for accurate property records and initiating tax from the specified date. Owners who have yet to comply are now receiving final notices via mail or by affixing them to the property.

Required documents include:

  • 1. Ownership documents (sale deed, Index II, or property card).
  • 2. Certified possession documents from relevant authorities (e.g., MIDC).
  • 3. Registered gift or partition deeds, if applicable.
  • 4. Construction approval documents, including the completion certificate.

Failure to comply within seven days will lead to retrospective taxation under Section 150(A) of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act, leaving no alternative for the PCMC.

PCMC has urged society officials to notify absent owners or provide their contact details to survey personnel. For any discrepancies in assessment, owners will bear the responsibility.
