Pimpri, August 29: In a proactive move to enhance the quality of education in the civic schools, the PCMC education department has formed an 18-member core team. The mission of this team is to delve into innovative teaching methods, to improve the education standards and to further enhance the various academic activities across all the 128 civic schools that could revolutionize the educational landscape. 

Setting out on their mission, the team embarked on a journey to Sahyadri School in Khed taluka in Pune district recently, renowned for its progressive approach to learning. With a lush campus nestled amidst nature, the school exuded an air of curiosity and exploration. The team was greeted warmly and ushered into classrooms abuzz with engaged students. They witnessed collaborative projects, interactive technology integration, and student-driven learning, all of which left them inspired. 

Next, the team visited Jnana Prabodhini School in Nigdi, where a different flavor of innovation awaited. The school’s focus on experiential learning and practical application captivated the team’s attention. Students were seen not only studying textbooks but also engaging in hands-on experiments and real-world problem-solving. The approach fostered critical thinking and creativity among students, which deeply impressed the visiting team. After absorbing the lessons from both schools, the core team engaged in fruitful discussions, mapping out strategies to incorporate these innovative methods into the PCMC education system. They recognized the importance of personalized learning, integration of technology, and creating an environment where curiosity thrived. 

The Education Department is now planning visits to the Delhi public schools to gain further knowledge of their innovative approaches in academics. 

In the midst of the team’s efforts to glean insights from respective school visits, the PCMC Commissioner, Shekhar Singh, offered his perspective on the transformative journey. He said, “Our visit to these pioneering institutions has reinforced our commitment to evolving education. The innovative teaching methods we’ve witnessed will undoubtedly shape the way we nurture young minds in PCMC limits. The journey has just begun, and we are dedicated to promoting an environment where learning becomes a dynamic and inspiring experience for every student. Next, we are planning the core team’s visit to Delhi public schools.” 

Box Responsibilities of the Core Team  : 

  • To act as a link between the education department and schools to reach innovative programs to the teachers and students 
  • To review and evaluate the programs to know whether the activities implemented by the education department have reached the teachers and students. 
  • Preparing a report after implementing the program and conveying it to the concerned authorities -Review the work once a month to the concerned teacher in charge of the core team.
  • Participate in one workshop per month for capacity building of the core team members
