In a shocking case of animal cruelty, an animal welfare non-profit organization (NGO) based in Wakad in Pune “For Animal Safety” has filed a complaint with the Dehu Road Police following the shocking footage of three helpless dogs inside a society stuffed in a gunny bag with their mouth closed with tape and limbs tied.

As per information, on 3rd September 2023, at around 7:30 pm, a dedicated worker of the non-profit organization, ‘For Animal Safety’ received a disturbing call from an unidentified caller. The caller claimed to have received a video of three helpless dogs in a society, located near Bank of India on Dehu Road.

In the video, the dogs’ mouth were tied with cloth tape and their limbs were cruelly tied inside plastic bags.

Disturbed by this shocking video, the team of the non-governmental organization (NGO) immediately went to Dehu Road Police Station to file a complaint against the culprits responsible for the cruel treatment of these innocent dogs.

The accused brutally silenced the three innocent dogs by tying cloth tape around their mouths and stuffing them in plastic bags. They tied their limbs with ropes as well.

Hence, based on the complaint of the NGO, the police have booked the two accused persons under Sections 429, 511 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) & several sections of Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals Act. The police are further investigating the matter & finding the accused.

Padmini Stump, Founder of Mission Possible Foundation, Pune, expressed her anger “We are shocked & stunned by this unfortunate incident. These dogs were just living there peacefully. We don’t even know what has happened with them like have they been killed, are they being tortured further, where & in what condition are they kept etc. If the accused are gone scott-free, then other people may start this violent and inhuman act as well. So, we really want the police to take this up seriously, find the dogs & rescue them & arrest the accused immediately.”
