PUNE: In a daring heist, thieves forcibly entered 10 flats in three housing societies, namely Anuj Vihar, Matru Chhaya, and Siddhi Aangan, located in the vicinity of Tuljabhavani temple in Narhe village, stealing jewellery and cash.

As per information, the incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, leaving the residents in a state of shock. They stole a new vehicle from Matruchhaya Society but abandoned it on the road due to a blockade near Navale Bridge. The thief then fled in their own four-wheeler.

Later, it was revealed that all the other flats were locked from outside at the time of the burglary. The thieves executed their plan by closing the doors of other flats on the same floors from the outside and turning the direction of CCTV cameras. It is reported that they also stole items such as mobile chargers and other devices.

As per the information received, a flat owner named Mayur Devram Pawar has filed a complaint in this case. The complaint states that gold ornaments, watches, and the keys to a new car worth Rs 2.96 lakh were stolen during the burglary. It is worthy to note that the other apartment owners will be filing complaints within the next two days.

The frequency of thefts is rising, indicating an increase in crime. The police must enhance patrolling in the area to prevent such incidents.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Abhay Mahajan, Police Inspector, Sinhagad Road Police Station added, “One suspect involved in this crime has already been apprehended by the Pune Police’s Unit-3 Crime Branch. The search for other individuals involved in this case is ongoing, and a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure their arrest.”
