Pune: PMAY Sector 12 Issues Resolved After Talks With PMRDA Chief; Clubhouse And STP To Be Restored
Pimpri-Chinchwad | March 2, 2026: Long-standing issues affecting over 5,000 residents of the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY) housing project in Sector 12 under the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have been resolved following a high-level meeting with civic authorities.
The dispute centred around the wrongful transfer of the housing project’s clubhouse to the municipal corporation and the prolonged shutdown of a sewage treatment plant (STP) meant for 45 cooperative housing societies. Due to the stalled STP handover process, the plant remained non-functional, leading to severe water scarcity, sanitation problems and foul odour in the locality.
After sustained follow-up by the Chikhali–Moshi–Pimpri-Chinchwad Housing Society Federation, a meeting was held with Yogesh Mhase, Commissioner of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

During the meeting, the commissioner assured residents that the clubhouse transfer would be reversed and the facility would be formally handed back to the housing project. He also directed officials to restart the STP immediately, with a fresh meeting scheduled within the next 8–10 days to complete the formal transfer process to the societies.

Additional instructions were issued to clear dust, debris and obstructions on Sector 12’s internal roads and make them operational at the earliest.
Housing Society Federation President Sanjeevan Sangale welcomed the decision, stating that years of administrative errors had unfairly burdened residents. He said the federation would continue to advocate for residents’ rights and ensure accountability in civic decisions.
Residents expressed relief following the assurances, calling the intervention a major step toward restoring essential civic infrastructure and improving living conditions in the PMAY Sector 12 housing cluster.
