The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is urging all citizens to promptly pay their taxes for the financial year 2024-25. This appeal comes as part of an effort to meet the revenue target set for the year.

To incentivize timely payments, a 5% to 10% discount is being offered on tax payments up to May 31, 2024. This discount aims to encourage citizens to settle their dues promptly.

The Citizens Facilitation Centers (CFCs) will have extended hours on May 31, 2024, operating from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM to facilitate this process.

The PMC’s taxation and tax collection department is a significant source of income for the city, encompassing a total of 79 offices. The total number of property holders within the PMC limits is 14.22 lakhs. All property holders have been sent payment notifications for the financial year 2024-25. However, those property owners who have not yet received their payment notifications can contact the Property Tax Department via propertytax.punecorporation.org to view or download their payment details.

From April 1, 2024, to May 28, 2024, a total of 4,93,705 property holders availed of the discount, depositing Rs. 836.08 crore with the PMC. Payments were made through various methods: 62,174 holders paid Rs. 226.58 crores by cheque, 85,756 holders paid Rs. 87.94 crore in cash, and 3,45,775 holders paid Rs. 521.54 crore through online and digital systems.

Citizens are encouraged to make use of online payment methods to avoid long waits at the centers. All CFCs will be open from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on weekends and public holidays as well. The extended hours and additional staff at CFCs aim to prevent overcrowding and ensure a smooth payment process.

Property holders are requested to pay tax through the online mode. The PMC offers various online payment options, including NetBanking, Credit Card, Debit Card, Bharat QR Code, UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe), Mobile Wallets (Amazon Pay), and NEFT-RTGS.

Madhav Jagtap, Deputy Commissioner of Taxation and Tax Collection at the Pune Municipal Corporation, has appealed to all property holders to take advantage of the discount period and make their payments promptly to avoid a last-minute rush and ensure timely compliance.
