Pune: PMC Collects ₹40.68 Crore In Property Tax Over 18 Days, Intensifies Recovery Efforts

Collection of ₹40,68,54,299 over 18 days from 2/12/2024 to 19/12/2024.

The Tax Assessment and Collection Department of Pune Municipal Corporation has focused significantly on recovering pending dues to achieve the 2024-25 revenue target. Accordingly, from 2nd December 2024, specialized recovery teams, including a “Band Squad,” were formed for property tax collection.

These teams have targeted properties with outstanding dues within the jurisdiction of 15 regional offices. From 2 December 2024 to 13 December 2024, the squads visited 317 properties, collecting ₹40,68,54,299 (Forty crore sixty-eight lakh fifty-four thousand two hundred ninety-nine). Additionally, 75 properties were sealed due to non-payment.

“The PMC oversees approximately 14.8 lakh properties, of which around 8,84,622 property owners have paid ₹1841.77 crore in property tax. For the remaining defaulters, aggressive recovery measures are underway through the designated squads. Property owners who have not yet paid their dues should note that strict action will be taken against them,” said Madhav Jagtap, Deputy Commissioner, Tax Assessment and Collection Department, Pune Municipal Corporation.
