Pune : PMC Penalises 25 Commercial Properties For Violating Norms

Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) assessed various commercial properties and recovered thrice the amount of property tax and also sealed some properties for unauthorized construction at Dhayari, Vadgaon Budruk, Vadgaon Khurd, Ambegaon Khurd, Ambegaon Budruk, Narhe on Tuesday. 

As per information, Ajit Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner, Taxation and Tax Collection and Rajesh Kamthe, Administration Officer along with his team visited 25 properties at Dhayari, Vadgaon Budruk, Vadgaon Khurd, Ambegaon Khurd, Ambegaon Budruk and Narhe. During the inspection, action was taken against properties with unauthorized construction. Also, the property tax from them was recovered. Also, properties that did not pay taxes were investigated and sealed. Sides of the hotels,  use of terraces, unauthorized godowns and industrial properties were investigated.

Taxation and tax collection is an important source of income for Pune Municipal Corporation. In accordance with the achievement of the objective given to the department for the financial year 2023-24, the Pune Municipal Corporation has undertaken a campaign to collect, cap and levy arrears from the tax collection and taxation office. 4Hotel KDC Food World, DhayariDue to arrears of Rs 31 lakhs 39 thousand, the property was sealed.
5Hotel Nikhara, DhayariAt the time of the property sealing action, the amount of Rs 2 lakhs for the next date was recovered.
6OK Packaging Go Down, DhayariApproximately 14,000 square feet of unauthorized godowns starting from the year 2019 were found, and three times fine was ordered.

As per the information, the PMC will carry out similar visits in the remaining parts of the city. Unauthorized use of properties, tax collection and sealing campaigns of the properties of defaulters will be intensified.
