Pune: PMC Urged To Address Safety Concerns As Unstable Hoarding Structure Pose Threat
24/July/2024
There are two big metal structures left unattended on the hill slopes near Raheja Vista Road across from Royale Heritage Mall in Mohammadwadi. These iron frames have been moving down the slope, causing soil and debris to come loose and fall along with them.
The Pune Municipal Corporation’s clear negligence in leaving the two sky-sign frames on the hill slope and the delay in removing them could pose a significant risk to commuters on the road if a landslide occurs during heavy rainfall. A resident complained that two massive frames have been left unattended. There was road work being carried of which the debris is lying around. PMC has neglected the safety of the residents. The hoarding structure may slide down anytime.
Pune Pulse was the first the publication to report when the hoarding collapsed during rains last year. Since April 2023 the PMC has not initiated any action on removal of these structures too.
