Pune, December 2, 2025: In a decisive move against unauthorized construction activities, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has launched a strict campaign targeting illegal Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) plants. The action commenced with a major operation against the ‘Millennium RMC Plant’ located at Mauje Jambhe in Mulshi taluka.

On December 1, 2025, PMRDA’s Encroachment Removal Department carried out a demolition drive at the site. Using a poclain machine, the team dismantled the plant’s iron sheds and RCC walls before sealing the entire facility.

The plant management was sternly warned that if operations resume without due permission, a criminal case will be registered against them under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act, 1966.

The drive was conducted under the guidance of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase and Police Superintendent/Vigilance Officer Amol Zende. The operation saw the participation of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Deepti Suryawanshi-Patil, Tahsildar Asha Holkar, and branch engineers including Prashant Chaudhary, Shashibhushan Hole, Rituraj Sonawane, Deepak Mane, and Amit Khedkar.

Following this action, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Deepti Suryawanshi-Patil issued an appeal to all RMC plant operators within the PMRDA’s jurisdiction to ensure they possess the necessary permits before conducting business. The authority has also indicated that similar action will soon be taken against other illegal RMC plants in the region.
