Pune Police Arrest Six Accused Within 48 Hours In Sasane Nagar Murder Case
Pune, May 13, 2026: The Kale Padal Police in Pune arrested six accused within 48 hours in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old man in Sasane Nagar, Hadapsar. Police said the victim was allegedly killed following an old dispute and personal rivalry linked to an assault case involving the daughter of the victim’s partner.
According to police officials, the incident took place around 10.30 pm on May 3 in the parking area of a building in Lane No. 5, Hingane Building, Sasane Nagar. The deceased, identified as Ganesh Sanju Biradar, was allegedly attacked by Durvang alias Paras Mankar, Sahil Shelar and three to four accomplices.
Investigators said the accused allegedly held a grudge against Biradar over a quarrel that had taken place nearly three months earlier. Police also stated that the accused were angered after the victim allegedly assaulted Tanvi, the daughter of a woman identified as Sheetal Kamble, who was reportedly in a relationship with the deceased.
Police said the attackers allegedly assaulted Biradar with cement blocks and fists and kicks, causing severe injuries that led to his death. A case was registered at Kale Padal Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including murder and criminal conspiracy charges.
During the investigation, police identified the main accused, Durvang alias Paras Mankar, as a history-sheeter. Three separate investigation teams were formed under the guidance of senior officers to trace the accused.
Based on technical analysis and information received from informers, police first arrested Sahil Sagar Shelar (24), Chandrashekhar Somnath Javir (20), and Suraj Ramesh Dorkar (21) from different parts of Pune on May 7.
Further investigation and technical surveillance later led police to the main accused Durvang alias Paras Sunil Mankar (21), along with Paras Kishor Gaikwad (21) and Abhi alias Abhijeet Sanjay Ingle (22). The trio was arrested from the Khed Shivapur-Katraj area on May 10.
All arrested accused were produced before the court, which remanded them to police custody till May 13. Further investigation is being carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Ajay Hanchate of Kale Padal Police Station.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Sagar Kavade (Zone 5), Assistant Commissioner of Police Atulkumar Navgire of Hadapsar Division, Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil of Kale Padal Police Station, Pune City, and Police Inspector (Crime) Annaso Babar.
The team included Assistant Police Inspectors Amit Shete and Ajay Hanchate, along with Police Constables Pravin Kalbhor, Nilesh Desai, Daud Sayyed, Pratik Lahigude, Amol Fadtare, Parshuram Pise, Raju Waghmare, Shahid Sheikh, Balu Thakur, Atul Pandharkar, Mahadev Shinde, Pradip Bediskar, Giriraj Jagdale, Vishal Thombre, Saddam Tamboli, Rakesh Salunkhe and Nitin Dhole, who carried out the investigation.
