PUNE POLICE BANS BURSTING FIRECRACKERS ON PUBLIC ROADS

The recent order issued by Pune Police also stated that the temporary licenses are issued for sale of firecrackers only from October 27 to November 7.

The Pune Police issued an order laying norms for the same and bursting of firecrackers during Diwali. The Pune Police have imposed a ban on sale, possession and bursting of Sutli bombs (string wrapped crackers), on public roads.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta in the order mentioned that the sellers are allowed to sell only during the period of October 27 to November 7. The goods that are not sold must be returned to the traders who have permanent permits.

THE ORDER STATED :
Fire crackers emitting noise are banned from bursting from 10 pm to 6 am. Use of those firecrackers emitting light effects are allowed during this time.
The string wrapped crackers popularly known as Sutli bomb or those making loud sound are banned for possession, sale as well as bursting.
Firecrackers that produce a noise level of more than 125 decibels at a distance of 4 meters from the spot of bursting have been banned from possession, sale and bursting.

It is prohibited to burst any type of cracker on any public road and within ten meters of the side of a public road Sale of foreign made firecrackers is banned too, as per the order issued by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation, Nagpur.
