Pune Police Book 4 For Operating Bar Beyond Permitted Hours
In a stern move to enforce compliance, the City Police have booked four individuals, including owners and staff of an All Day Kitchen & Bar in Viman Nagar, for operating beyond permitted hours. Police officials found the bar and kitchen still open at 3 AM, well past the allowed time.
This incident is part of a broader crackdown on non-compliant establishments in Pune. Recently, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) targeted hotels with unauthorized constructions, while the police and excise departments inspected 65 pubs, bars, and restaurants for license-related violations.
The intensified crackdown aims to ensure compliance, maintain law and order, and provide a safe environment for citizens. The police have issued a stern warning to hotel owners across Pune, emphasizing that strict measures will be taken against those who disregard legal guidelines and operating hours.
Residents in areas like Kalyani Nagar have been urging authorities to roll back the deadline for pubs and restaurants to 11:30 PM, citing concerns over public safety and noise pollution. The PMC and police department’s actions are seen as a step towards addressing these concerns.
The police action serves as a deterrent to other establishments, reinforcing the importance of adhering to regulations. With this stringent enforcement, Pune authorities aim to maintain a safe and regulated environment for citizens and businesses alike.
The crackdown is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with authorities focusing on ensuring compliance and safety in the city’s hospitality sector. Hotel owners are advised to adhere to operating hours and regulations to avoid consequences.
