Pune Police Busts Major Counterfeit Currency Racket, Seizes Over ₹10 Lakh in Fake Notes
Pune, January 17, 2025: In a major crackdown on counterfeit currency, Sahakarnagar Police apprehended a suspect during a late-night patrol and uncovered a massive fake currency operation. The individual was found carrying a bundle of counterfeit ₹500 notes, which led to the discovery of a larger racket.
Following the suspect’s interrogation, police arrested three suppliers in Navi Mumbai and seized a total of 2,070 fake notes valued at ₹10.35 lakh. Acting on additional leads, authorities apprehended another suspect in Nalasopara, Thane.
The investigation has now expanded to Delhi, where Pune Police have identified a key figure linked to the operation. Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspect.
