Pune Police Raid Spa In Baner; Rescue 3 Women, Arrest Manager For Running Prostitution Racket

Pune, December 5, 2024– The Pune City Crime Branch raided a spa in Baner on December 3, 2024, following a tip-off about illegal activities being conducted under the guise of a wellness center. During the operation, three women were rescued, and one individual was arrested.
The raid targeted “Moon Thai Spa,” located at Bapusaheb Murkute Patil Complex, Baner Road. Acting on intelligence received from a confidential source, police sent a decoy customer to verify the claims. Upon confirmation, officers conducted the raid and discovered that prostitution was being operated under the spa’s banner.
Arrests and Charges
The arrested suspect, identified as Satauddin Mohammad Dilawar Hussain (22 years, a resident of Old Sangvi, Pune), was taken into custody. Police have also identified another accused, who is currently absconding. A case has been registered under sections 143 and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
Operation Details
The raid and rescue operation were executed under the supervision of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mr. Nikhil Pingale, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime 1), Ganesh Ingale. The on-ground action was carried out by a team led by Inspector Sangeeta Jadhav and Sub-Inspector Chavan from the Bharosa Cell, Crime Branch, Pune City.
The rescued women are now receiving support and assistance from the authorities as investigations continue.
