Pune Police Raid Uncovers Counterfeit Puma Products Worth ₹8.02 Lakh In Ambegaon Budruk

In a major crackdown on counterfeit goods, the Crime Branch Unit 2 of Pune Police seized fake merchandise worth ₹8,02,600 being sold under the brand name Puma at a shop in Ambegaon Budruk, Pune.
Acting on a tip-off about the sale of counterfeit branded goods in the city, the operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingale. The team, led by Crime Branch Unit 2 in-charge Pratap Mankar, collaborated with Puma’s official representatives to verify the information.
The raid took place on December 3, 2024, at Stylox Fashion Hub, a store in Ambegaon Budruk’s Nipani Vasti, Katraj. The seized items included bags, T-shirts, sports shoes, sliders, jackets, trousers, and boxer pants carrying the Puma logo. The total value of the confiscated counterfeit goods was estimated at ₹8.02 lakh.
A case has been registered at Ambegaon Police Station under FIR No. 1018/2024, invoking relevant sections of the Copyright Act, 1957 (Sections 51 and 63).
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ganesh Ingle. The team included Police Inspector Pratap Mankar, Assistant Police Inspector Amol Rasal, Police Sub-Inspector Nitin Kamble, and constables Shankar Nevse, Amol Sarde, Omkar Kumbhar, Sanjay Abnave, Vinod Chavan, Pushpendra Chavan, Sadhana Tamane, Vijay Pawar, Pramod Kokane, Nikhil Jadhav, Ganesh Thorat, and Nagnath Rakh.
The police have intensified their efforts to curb the sale of counterfeit branded goods across the city.
