Pune Police Seize Ganja Worth ₹24,200 From Kamela Area In Kondhwa, One Arrested Under NDPS Act
Pune, June 21, 2026: The Anti-Narcotics Squad-2 of the Crime Branch, Pune City Police, arrested a 22-year-old man and seized cannabis (ganja) worth ₹24,200 during a crackdown on drug trafficking in the Kondhwa area.
Acting on instructions from senior officers to intensify action against the illegal sale of narcotic substances, a team led by Police Inspector Wahid Pathan and Assistant Police Inspector Anil Survase was conducting anti-narcotics patrolling in Kondhwa on June 19, 2026.
During the operation, the police apprehended Asif Atik Memon (22), a resident of Galli No. 1, near Vaishali Clinic, Bhagyoday Nagar, Kondhwa, Pune, near Jaidh General Store in Kamela, Kondhwa. He was allegedly found in possession of cannabis intended for illegal sale.
Police seized a total of ₹37,300 worth of property, including:
1,210 grams of cannabis (ganja)valued at ₹24,200, A Redmi mobile phone valued at ₹10,000 and Cash amounting to ₹3,100.
A case has been registered against the accused at Kondhwa Police Station under Crime Register No. 475/2026. The offence has been booked under Sections 8(c) and 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Tejaswi Satpute, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gauhar Hasan, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime-3) Shankar Khatke.
The action was executed by Senior Police Inspector Wahid Pathan, Assistant Police Inspector Anil Survase, and members of the Anti-Narcotics Squad-2, Crime Branch, Pune City, including Rajas Shaikh, Yogesh Kumbhar, Prithviraj Pandule, Satish Chavan, Ganesh Gosavi, Vinod Nimbhore, Prashant Kalaskar, Sunil Mahadik, Surekha Sable, and police driver Dinesh Bastewad.
