In response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, Pune Police intensified security measures by holding a security meeting with lodge and hotel owners under the jurisdiction of Kalepadal police station. The meetings were aimed at strengthening surveillance and ensuring preparedness against any potential threats.

The Kalepadal meeting, led by Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil focused on implementing robust safety protocols.

Key security guidelines issued during the sessions included:

1. Strict verification of identity documents for all guests at the time of check-in, with accurate entries maintained in the lodge register.

2. Mandatory C-Form submissions for foreign nationals along with photocopies of their passports and visas.

3. Background verification of all lodge employees.

4. Prohibition of child labour in all establishments.

5. Installation of HD and night-vision CCTV cameras covering entrances and nearby roads.

6. Availability of functional fire safety equipment on the premises.

7. Prominent display of emergency contact numbers within the lodge.

8. Avoidance of vehicle parking that may obstruct public roads or traffic.

9. Immediate reporting of any suspicious individuals to the Police Control Room (Dial 112) or the local police station.

These heightened precautions follow the central government’s recent decision to cancel all short-term visas issued to Pakistani nationals. In line with this, three Pakistani citizens staying in Kondhwa, Pune, were deported—one of whom was found to be residing with a relative.

Lodge and hotel owners were present at the Kalepadal and Hadapsar police station for the meeting.
