Pune police to deploy special squad to control Koyata Gang

Pune: Pune city police on Tuesday declared that they have decided to appoint a special squad of 450 marshals across Pune city 24 x 7 to control the Koyta gang.

Ritesh Kumar Pune city police commissioner said he has decided to deploy a squad of 450 marshals along with 125 bikes that will work in two shifts each shift will be of 12 hours to get control over Koyata gang.

“Under this initiative each police station will be given five to seven motorcycles and respective beat marshals depend upon the locality of the area. So that this well equipped beat marshals will help to build confidence among the locals against the Koyata gang members,’’ said Kumar.

Recently ‘Koyata Gang’ has been creating terror among the various parts of the city Many juveniles are also associated with the Koyata gang as a part of the attraction and for easy money. On Tuesday class 12 th student was hospitalised after another deadly incident of a Koyata assault near Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya in Pune city.

Hence to get control of the Koyata Gang and to reinforce confidence among the people, commissioner of police Retesh Kumaar decided to appoint a 24 x 7 special squad across the city to get rid of the Koyata gang.
