In a significant development for the residents of Dhairikar, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to commence the construction of a 30-meter wide road stretching from Sinhagad Road to Savitri Garden.

The project, spanning 1200 meters, aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the Dhayari area, with diverted traffic from the parallel road providing a practical solution.

Amar Shinde, Executive Engineer of the PMC Road Department, shared insights with Pune Pulse, stating, “The road will commence at Sinhagad Road, extending until it intersects with the road leading to DSK Vishwa near Savitri Garden. With the cooperation of several landowners who have willingly contributed their land for this initiative, the process of land acquisition has become more seamless.”

The compensation for affected landowners will be provided in the form of ‘Transferable Development Rights’ and ‘Floor Space Index.’ The 30-meter width of the road signifies a substantial improvement in connectivity and accessibility for the Dhairikar community.

Noteworthy collaboration and consensus were observed during an inspection of the pending DP road by municipal officials, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, affected farmers, landowners, and concerned citizens. The PMC has assured a prompt commencement of the roadwork, offering a viable solution to the long-standing traffic issues on the main road in the Dhayari area.

Present during the inspection were MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, Sahebrao Dandge (PMC Road Department Superintendent Engineer), Amar Shinde (Executive Engineer), Naresh Raikar (Deputy Engineer), Hemant More (Construction Department Executive Engineer), Vijay Kumawat (Deputy Engineer), along with several landowners and citizens who have played a pivotal role in facilitating this infrastructural development.
