Pune, January 26, 2026: Residents of Kalwad Wasti in Dhanori in Pune’s Pimpri-Chinchwad border area have raised serious concerns over slow and incomplete civic works being carried out by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), alleging prolonged inconvenience and disruption of essential services. The issue was highlighted by local resident Hari Ravu, who has urged authorities to take swift corrective action.

According to residents, the civic work began on January 4, 2026, but has remained incomplete even after three weeks. During the process, existing water supply and sewage connections were reportedly damaged and have not been restored, leaving several households without basic facilities. Locals claim that repeated follow-ups with officials have failed to yield results.

The damaged infrastructure has forced many families to depend on relatives and neighbours for daily necessities such as bathing, using toilets, and washing clothes. “Life has become extremely difficult, especially for senior citizens, women, and children,” said a resident from the area.

Adding to the residents’ woes is an open sewage drain left unattended at the site. Locals allege that stagnant sewage water has created unhygienic conditions and a strong stench, raising fears of health risks and the spread of disease. Residents say the situation worsens during evenings and has made it difficult to even step out of their homes.

The citizens of Kalwad Wasti have demanded that PMC immediately complete the pending work, restore water and sewage connections, and ensure proper sanitation at the site. They have warned that continued delay could lead to public protests if the matter is not resolved promptly.
