Pune: Revenue Department To Hold Hearing On December 4 In ₹300-Crore Mundhwa Land Deal Case
Pune, November 26, 2025: The Maharashtra Revenue Department has scheduled a hearing on December 4 to review a plea from a firm associated with Parth Pawar, son of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, regarding a ₹21 crore stamp duty recovery notice issued in connection with a disputed land transaction. Officials confirmed the development on Tuesday.
Firm Requests More Time to Respond
Legal representatives of Amadea Enterprises LLP, the firm linked to Parth Pawar, have sought a 15-day extension to submit their reply to the stamp duty notice. The request was filed with the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) on Monday, the final day of the notice period.
IGR Office Confirms Date of Hearing
According to officials from the IGR office, the firm has formally sought a hearing on the matter. “The hearing will take place on December 4,” an official said, adding that the decision on an extension request will be taken by senior authorities.
Revenue Minister Emphasises ‘Natural Justice’
State Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who was in Pune, stated that the department is strictly adhering to regulations and ensuring fair procedure. He said multiple notices must be issued as part of due process to avoid future claims of unfair treatment. “They have been given a hearing date of December 4 as per the norms,” he told reporters.
Land Deal Raises Questions
The case involves a ₹300-crore agreement to purchase a 40-acre plot in Mundhwa, later found to be government land. The firm was allegedly exempted from stamp duty, prompting the department to issue the recovery notice and initiate an inquiry.
FIR Filed; Several Individuals Named
Following the controversy, police registered an FIR against firm partner Digvijay Patil and others, including a government official involved in the transaction. Parth Pawar has not been named in the FIR.
An IGR inquiry has reportedly held Patil, power-of-attorney holder Shital Tejwani, and sub-registrar Ravindra Taru responsible for procedural lapses in facilitating the sale deed. Investigation into the case continues.
