Residents residing in various societies within the Ramtekdi Industrial Area, including Hillside Apartments, are expressing frustration over the incomplete roadwork stretching 100 meters towards Handewadi, lingering unfinished for over six months.

Anugrah Bhatia, a resident of Hillside Apartments, voiced the grievances, stating, “Initially, the road was in good condition. However, the PMC initiated work to upgrade it to a cement road around September 2023. Despite six months passing, the 100-meter stretch remains unfinished, with work coming to a halt. The absence of street lights exacerbates the issue, turning the area into a hotspot for accidents and mishaps. Numerous vehicles encounter accidents here daily. Our society, along with others in the vicinity, is grappling with the repercussions of this stalled project. We anticipated completion within 2 to 3 months initially, but there’s been no progress despite our complaints to the PMC.”

Anand Utarkar, another resident of Hillside Apartments, highlighted the connectivity significance of the road for their society and the surrounding areas. “The road, previously tarred and in good shape, was dug up by the PMC for conversion to a cement one. Commencing in September 2023, the work appears to have halted midway, causing inconvenience to trucks and heavy vehicles accessing nearby industries. Despite relentless follow-ups with the PMC, no tangible progress has been made. The considerable gap between the dug-up section and the rest of the road leads to traffic jams, posing risks of accidents, and some individuals have even fallen into the trench.”

Balasaheb Patil, Ward Officer of PMC Hadapsar-Mundhwa Ward, responded, “We will conduct a thorough inspection at the site and take necessary actions accordingly.”
