Pune: Savarkar’s Historic Room In Fergusson College To Remain Open For Public Viewing On His Death Anniversary
Pune: The historic room where Vinayak Damodar Savarkar once resided will be open to the public for viewing on February 26, 2025, as a tribute on his death anniversary. The room, known for its historical significance and inspiration to students, will be accessible from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, according to Dr. Anand Katikar, the event coordinator.
At 8:45 AM, Pramod Rawat, Chairman of the Regulatory Board, Deccan Education Society, will pay tribute by garlanding Savarkar’s portrait.
Savarkar stayed in Room No. 17 of the Fergusson College Hostel No. 1 during his time as a student from 1902 to 1905. The room houses a bust of Savarkar and displays two academic gowns from his D.Litt. (Doctor of Literature) degree.
