Hinjawadi: Police Rescue Three Women from Prostitution Setup Disguised as Spa
A Thai woman operating a prostitution racket out of an apartment on South Main Road in the Koregaon Park neighbourhood was busted by Pune city police. The woman has been taken into custody by police.
The first information report (FIR) in this case was filed on Thursday at the Koregaon Park police station. At around 10 pm on Wednesday night, police raided an apartment in a building on South Main Road. Two Thai women were also rescued from the area by police.
According to the police, the two women from Thailand were allegedly lured into prostitution by the accused, who had initially claimed to be calling them on the phone about working at beauty parlours in India.
The woman has been taken into custody in this case, according to the investigating officer, and the two women who have been rescued are also Thai nationals who entered India on a business visa. The accused who was detained has been placed under police custody until February 19 by a court.
The arrested woman is being investigated, according to police, to see if she had any connections to local traffickers.
