Pune, July 18, 2026: Shravani Kudale from Pune district, who emerged as Maharashtra’s topper in the NEET-UG 2026 examination with 710 out of 720 marks and secured All India Rank (AIR) 5, has credited her success to disciplined preparation, including staying away from mobile phones and social media for nearly a year.

The 18-year-old, who also topped the OBC category, said she deliberately avoided distractions to remain focused on her studies.

“I stayed away from my mobile phone and social media for almost a year. It helped me concentrate entirely on my preparation,” Shravani said.

A native of Khadki village in Daund taluka, Shravani completed her primary education at the Zilla Parishad Primary School in Gopalwadi before studying at Shardabai Pawar Vidyaniketan, Malegaon. She later prepared for NEET at the Success Code Coaching Institute in Baramati.

Shravani said studying in a government-run Zilla Parishad school did not hinder her academic journey.

“I never had any difficulty understanding English despite studying in a Zilla Parishad school for my primary education and a semi-English medium school later. Consistent hard work and proper guidance helped me achieve my goal,” she said.

Having appeared for NEET earlier, Shravani treated this year’s re-examination as a fresh opportunity to improve her performance.

“In my previous attempt, I expected around 715 marks but was uncertain about my rank. I approached the re-examination with renewed determination and prepared with complete dedication,” she said.

Shravani comes from a family of educators. Her parents, Jayashree Kudale and Krishna Kudale, are both Zilla Parishad school teachers, while her elder sister is pursuing a medical degree. She credited her family for their constant encouragement and support throughout her preparation.

Her achievement has been widely celebrated in her village, with residents, teachers and local leaders visiting her home to congratulate the family.

Baramati MP Supriya Sule also congratulated Shravani on social media, noting that her father, Krishna Kudale, is a recipient of the Pune Zilla Parishad Ideal Teacher Award.

Shravani’s success has been hailed as an inspiration for students from government schools, demonstrating that dedication, disciplined preparation and consistent effort can overcome resource constraints.
