Pune: Sinhagad Fort Generates Rs 38,750 in Nuisance Fees via Online Payments, Forest Dept

PUNE: The Forest Department has implemented a new system for the payment of nuisance fees charged for visiting Sinhagad fort, which has alleviated the inconvenience experienced by tourists. Over the past week, approximately 600 visitors have utilised this online payment facility, resulting in a collection of Rs 38,750 in nuisance fees.

As per the information received, this system has not only reduced the burden on the Forest Committee staff but has also helped to manage the crowd at the check post. Previously, tourists were facing difficulties due to the requirement to pay the nuisance fee in cash.

As per the information received, the online payment option was made available on August 22. This has reduced the inconvenience for tourists without cash, resulting in 600 visitors utilising the online payment option between August 22 and August 27, 2023.

Additionally, a total of Rs 38,750 in nuisance fees has been collected through this method. The benefits of implementing online nuisance fee payments include the elimination of inconvenience for tourists without cash, a reduction in debates at the checkpoint, and a decrease in the crowd at the check post.
