Pune: Sinhagad Institute Properties Face Seizure As PMC Cracks Down On Defaulters, Recovers ₹14.14 Crore In Five Days
Between December 2 and December 6, 2024, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) collected ₹14,14,26,212 (₹14.14 crore) in property tax dues. In line with its 2024-25 recovery targets, PMC deployed special squads, including a “band team,” to recover arrears from defaulters across 15 regional offices.
The Sinhagad Technical Institute, with properties in Kondhwa Budruk, Ambegaon Budruk, and Erandwane, had dues of ₹47,43,18,303 (₹47.43 crore) on its Erandwane property, leading to seizure action on December 6, 2024. A total of 26 properties were seized.
Out of approximately 14.8 lakh properties under PMC’s jurisdiction, 8,74,546 property owners have paid taxes amounting to ₹1,804 crore. Defaulters are urged to settle dues promptly to avoid punitive measures.
