Pune: Supriya Sule Inspects Navale Bridge Accident Zone, Calls For Immediate Safety Audit
Pune, November 17, 2025: Baramati MP Supriya Sule on Sunday conducted an inspection of the accident-prone Navale Bridge stretch, where repeated crashes have raised serious safety concerns.
Sule noted that the steep gradient near the bridge, overspeeding by heavy vehicles, and frequent brake-failure incidents are the major contributors to recurring accidents in the area.
Sule emphasised that stronger and coordinated efforts are required to bring the number of accidents down to zero. She urged authorities to conduct an immediate and comprehensive safety audit of the stretch to identify gaps and implement corrective measures.
She also highlighted the need for consistent awareness campaigns to improve road safety habits among commuters.
“Saving lives is a collective responsibility, and it requires both urgent and long-term action. All agencies — NHAI, Pune Municipal Corporation, district administration, and police — must work together,” Sule said, stressing the importance of multi-agency coordination to prevent further mishaps.
