Pune: Third Consecutive Accident Involving Heavy Vehicle And Bike In Mohammadwadi Raises Concern
Pune, April 10, 2026:Â A fresh accident involving a two-wheeler and a heavy vehicle has been reported near Lavanya hotel – KP Stellar society in Mohammadwadi, intensifying concerns over road safety in the area.
This marks the third such incident within a week. Earlier, two fatal accidents involving water tankers occurred on NIBM Road and in Wanowrie, where bikers lost their lives after being hit by heavy vehicles.
Local residents have expressed growing alarm over the frequent movement of water tankers and trucks through residential zones, alleging that repeated warnings to authorities have gone unaddressed. They claim that unchecked heavy vehicle traffic, especially during peak and late hours, has made the roads increasingly unsafe for commuters.
Following the latest incident, residents have renewed their demand for immediate intervention, including stricter traffic regulation, speed control measures, and rigorous checks on heavy vehicles operating in the area.
Citizens have urged authorities to take swift action to prevent further accidents, warning that continued inaction could lead to more serious consequences.
