Pune to Bengaluru via Solapur: Everything You Need to Know About the Route.
In the bustling city of Pune, travelers often seek the best routes to reach Bengaluru, and one popular path is through Solapur. This journey, rich in scenic beauty and cultural landmarks, not only promises a delightful experience but also provides essential information on road conditions and travel times. This article, authored by Ananth Iyer, aims to guide you through everything you need to know about the Pune to Bengaluru route via Solapur, ensuring your trip is smooth and enjoyable.
On October 26, Ananth Iyer undertook a road trip from Pune to Bengaluru (Tumkur), returning on November 2. The route covered was Pune – Sholapur – Vijayapura (Bijapur) – Hospete – Chitradurga – Tumkur, totaling approximately 800 km. The journey began at 5:15 am, with arrival at the Tumkur Hotel (Sadanand) around 4 pm. Overall, the road conditions were favorable.
The section from Pune to Solapur had well-maintained roads, including a useful bypass in Solapur. The drive from Solapur to Vijayapura was smooth, and it’s advisable to refuel at Vijayapura as options are limited until Hospete. The route from Vijayapura to Hospete had some speed breakers, while the road from Hospete to Chitradurga was excellent with no interruptions. Finally, the stretch from Chitradurga to Tumkur was smooth, though there were minor diversions due to ongoing flyover construction.
In hindsight, choosing this route over NH48 via Kolhapur, Belgaum, and Hubli was a wise decision, especially given the roadwork on NH48.
