Pune, January 20, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a complete suspension of water supply across several parts of the city on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, to carry out essential work on a major water pipeline connected to the Ravet pumping station.

According to civic officials, the shutdown is required for the removal and modification of an existing water pipeline. As a result, water supply will remain fully halted throughout the day on January 21 in the affected localities. The PMC has also informed residents that water supply on Thursday, January 22, will resume later than usual and will be delivered at reduced pressure.

Civic authorities have urged residents in the affected areas to store adequate water in advance and cooperate with the administration during the maintenance period to avoid inconvenience.

The PMC noted that similar water supply disruptions were carried out in December as part of urgent repair and maintenance work linked to construction activities at the Bund Garden Water Supply Department. During that period, water supply was completely halted on December 18, while on December 19, supply was restored late and at low pressure.

Localities affected during the December maintenance included Yerawada, Sangamwadi, Tingrenagar, Vidyanagar, Wadgaonsheri, Kharadi, Chandannagar, Somnathnagar, Viman Nagar, Lohegaon, Vishrantwadi, Nagpur Chawl, Kalyani Nagar, Dhanori, Kalwad, parts of Pratiknagar, Kasturba Colony, Mohamadi, Jadhav Nagar and surrounding areas.

Residents are advised to remain alert to official updates from the PMC regarding water supply restoration.
