Pune to Host ‘Divine Confluence 2025’: A Spectacular Blend of Kathak and Asian Performing Arts
Pune: ‘Divine Confluence 2025’, a grand celebration of Indian classical and Asian traditional arts, will take place on Sunday, 22nd June 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Pune. Audiences will witness a mesmerizing confluence of Kathak dance, Japanese Taiko drums, and other traditional Asian performances. This special event is part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Manisha Nrityalaya and is organized to honor the institution’s invaluable contribution of five decades in the training and promotion of Kathak dance.
The longstanding ‘artistic dialogue’ between Guru Pt. Manisha Sathe and renowned Japanese Taiko drum artist Yasuhito Takimoto, which has spanned over three decades, will take a new shape through this event. The numerous fusion concerts performed by them in India and Japan stand as a testament to this rich cultural exchange. This year’s ‘Divine Confluence’ will also feature vibrant oriental performances such as the Korean Fan Dance, Dragon Dance, Heaven Lady, and Chinese Stick Dance, adding more color and diversity to the evening.
A special highlight of the program is ‘Nrutyadhara’, an emotionally evocative Kathak performance that features five dancers from three generations of the same family. This presentation will include Guru Manisha Sathe, her daughter Shambhavi Dandekar, daughter-in-law Tejaswini Sathe, and granddaughters Sarveshwari and Aalpi. For the audience, this promises to be an unforgettable cultural evening.
