Pune: Traffic Advisory Issued for ‘Pune Grand Challenge Tour Prologue’; Major Route Diversions and No-Parking Zones Announced

Pune, January 17, 2026: The Pune Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the Pune Grand Challenge Tour Prologue, announcing multiple route diversions, one-way traffic arrangements, and no-parking zones across key areas of the city. The restrictions will remain in force for the duration of the competition to ensure smooth conduct of the event and public safety.

Key Road Restrictions and Diversions

A) FC Road–Range Hills–Deccan Area

• Goodluck Chowk to Chafekar Chowk (FC Road): Restricted during the event.
• Alternative routes suggested:
  • Goodluck Chowk → Tukaram Paduka Chowk → Dnyaneshwar Paduka Chowk → Lalit Mahal Chowk → Chafekar Chowk
  • Chafekar Chowk → Suryamukhi Chowk
  • Datta Mandir Chowk → U-turn at Range Hills Corner
  • Range Hills Corner → Range Hills Chowk → Sancheti Chowk
  • Sancheti Hospital Chowk → Deccan Gymkhana Bus Depot

B) Suryamukhi–Chafekar–Deccan Routes

• Suryamukhi Datta Mandir Chowk → Chafekar Chowk → Shimla Office Chowk → Sancheti Chowk
• Sancheti Chowk → S. G. Barve Chowk → Balgandharva Chowk → Deccan Gymkhana Bus Depot

C) Central Pune Diversions

• Alka Talkies Chowk → Kelkar Road → Riverbed route → Shaniwar Wada → Gadgil Statue
• Senadatta Chowk → Bal Shivaji Mhatre Bridge
• Shamrao Ganjwe Chowk → Patrakar Bhavan → S. M. Joshi Bridge → Garware College
• Sevasadan Chowk → Appa Balwant Chowk → Shaniwar Wada → Gadgil Statue → Kumbhar Ves → RTO Chowk

D) University Chowk Traffic Movement

• Shelarmama Chowk → Prabhat Road → Law College Road → S.B. Road → University Chowk
• Vehicles from Bhandarkar Road, BMCC Road, Chatushringi Road, and Model Colony should avoid Fergusson College Road and use Law College Road and Senapati Bapat Road instead.
• One-way traffic:
  • University Chowk → Range Hills Corner → Symphony Circle
  • Traffic from Symphony Circle towards Range Hills will be prohibited.

E) Sadlababa Chowk Routes

• Sadlababa Chowk → Parnakuti Chowk → KP Junction → Mobaaz Chowk → RTO Chowk → Shahir Amar Chowk
• Khadki → Poultry Chowk → Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk → Bremen Chowk
• Wakdewadi → Patil Estate → Wakdewadi

No-Parking Advisory

• The entire route of the Pune Grand Challenge Tour Prologue will be declared a strict no-parking zone on both sides of the road for the duration of the event.

Police Appeal

The Pune Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to:

• Follow traffic diversions strictly
• Avoid unnecessary travel on restricted routes
• Cooperate with on-duty traffic personnel

The advisory has been issued by Himmat Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pune City, and has been shared with media houses for wide public dissemination.
