PUNE: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vijay Kumar Magar has issued an order to restrict the entry of heavy vehicles into the central part  of city during Ganeshotsav. This decision has been made due to the significant influx of devotees during the festival period.

In order to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of the public, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from accessing major roads in the central area until the conclusion of Ganesh visarjan. Deputy Commissioner Vijay Kumar Magar has stated that these major roads will remain closed for heavy vehicles both during the day and night.

The specific roads that will be closed for heavy vehicles include Laxmi Road (from Sant Kabir Chowk to Tilak Chowk, Alka Cinema), Kelkar Road (from Futka Buruj Road to Alka Cinema), Kumthekar Road (from Shanipar Chowk to Alka Cinema), Tilak Road (from Jedhe Chowk to Alka Cinema), Shastri Road (from Senadatta Police Chowki to Alka Cinema), Karve Road (from Nalstop Chowk to Khandojibaba Chowk), Fergusson Road (from Khandojibaba Chowk to Veer Chapekar Chowk), Jangli Maharaj Road (from S.G. Barve Chowk to Khandojibaba Chowk), and Chhatrapati Shivaji Road (from Gadgil Statue Chowk to Jedhe Chowk).
