Pune, March 6, 2025 – In a stringent action against noise pollution, Pune City Traffic Police seized 17 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles fitted with modified silencers in the Bharati Vidyapeeth area and imposed fines totaling ₹30,000 on the owners.
The action was taken under guidance of API Shilpa Lambe of Bharati Vidyapeeth Traffic Police. During the crackdown, officers penalized bike owners not only for modified silencers but also for violations such as fancy number plates and other infractions. “The action against modified silencers will continue. We urge vehicle owners to comply with traffic rules and regulations,” Lambe added.
A video of the enforcement drive was shared on Pune City Traffic Police’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
This action follows a similar operation by Loni Kalbhor Police, where 22 motorcycles with modified silencers were seized after multiple complaints from residents about excessive noise. In that case, owners were fined ₹25,000 each and instructed to reinstall original silencers.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to curbing noise pollution and ensuring adherence to traffic regulations.
